When Aarya’s family turns upside down, how far she goes to save herself and her family fortune.

Aarya is one of the hits for Hotstar after the "SpecialOps" series. Aarya is an adaptation of a Dutch series called PENOZA (BLACK WIDOW). This series is much more special to the spectators as Sushmita Sen has returned to the screen after a decade. She is not aged, still looking young and gorgeous. Her secret of her maintaining her was shown in the movie.

In the last few years, I have streamed women-based protagonist series like Aarya, Marcella, Valhalla murders, Broadchurch. Out of which Aarya has made its trophy. Outstanding performance by Sushmita. Lived life as Aarya.

Stepping into the story, it revolves around a rich family of Rajasthan. The series has nine episodes, each episode is about 50 minutes, the director has taken enough to show the whole story and in detailed. Tej (Chandrachud Singh), a family living in Rajasthan along with his wife and three kids. He along with his brother-in-law and his friend does opium work for medicines through a façade of Pharmaceuticals and does some illegal work in the background.

Tej’s wife Arya (Sushmita) is the daughter of a don who started this work. Being rich and respectful with fortune, Arya’s brother wants to increase it to the next level. There is an entry of cocaine, Tej dies in this fight, and Aarya’s brother jailed.

After that, the defaulters harass Aarya, since she started to handle the business. There are many problems in front of her, which is to handle work, handle the family, and to fight the difficulties constantly facing, need to find his husband’s killer. There is more to tell but let me stop here to give you a chance to stream it.

The first two episodes may seem slow, but after the third episode, the story picks up a bit. The story may reflect rich families, well-advanced culture, but there is also nervousness in it. How does a woman handle business when she faces difficulties?

The one which I love the most in the series is the songs which played in a loop. Attaching the link of the song, do hear it. Bade Achche Lagte HainThe love between Tej and Aarya was remarkable, So touchy.

Overall, A Prodigious welcome of Dutch series to India. Indian Penoza as Aarya has won many hearts through Sushmita Sen.

Likes and Dislikes

  • The Series is greatly adapted to Indian based series, the screenplay has played a vital role and it is splendid.

  • The cast and the acting, Sushmita has lived in the role of Aarya, she crafted it very well. Apart from her, ACP Khan portrayed by Vikas Kumar who is coming in almost all episodes desperately finding a hole to bring down Aarya’s family. He has acted very well. Apart from that, The role of Daulat, A heavily built-up character but given a less screen presence and the kids of Aarya, matured acting.

  • The thing I feel missing is the momentum, which was slow in the first, it took two complete episodes to start the hop.

  • The attempt of bringing Bhagavat Gita, Felt bored and blunder.

  • Since the series been rated as 15+, the in-depth of the drug cartel and the mafia was not shown. They stickled with limited characters and made an outline of the drug cartel.

The story through the eyes of Himmat Singh of Research and Analysis wing is based on the inspiration was taken from Nineteen Years of nationally significant events, several espionage missions were undertaken by India in the last two decades.

Opening scene, Himmat Singh portrayed by Kay Kay Menon known for Baby, Ghazi Attack is waiting to be called for an internal audit by R&AW. During the wait time, he was taking calls and saying Kill him, Leave him which makes us think who he is. He was interrogated on the case of spending twenty eight crore worth of government funds in the last eleven years.

As a part of the interrogation, he was telling about the 2001 parliament attack by five terrorists under the supervision of sixth terrorist Ikhlaq khan who was escaped later. For the process of catching him, he has placed five asserts in five countries where Ikhlaq Khan has business and the funds were utilized for their needs and he refused to reveal their identities. The story is how Ikhlaq was being found and captured is the plot.

Story was happening in 2019, Himmat is narrating the story of his part in the nineteen years of the national significant events and espionage missions were undertaken by India with thrilling events and action-packed. The reveal of the perpetrator was unexpected and great.

From Episode 1 to Episode 8, as a spectator we will not get bored, the entire screenplay has engrossed our attention towards the screen. It is an entertainment pack consists of action-packed scenes, thrilling elements, humor, nail-biting moments, and family drama. I and my wife started yesterday night and finished five episodes in a single sitting, that much interesting and intriguing.

The screenplay of the final seventh and eighth episode was top-notch, it has embraced the thrilling moments and was spellbinding. The characters are appropriate and do their part splendid. The background score has patronized the screenplay to give more addictive topped. The cinematography has absorbed all our attention in showing various countries and color-coding on the environment, dresses, etc..

The writer Neeraj Pandey who is known for “A Wednesday”, “MS Dhoni”, “Special 26” movies have given a wonderful action-packed thriller. The portrayal of Himmat Singh - Kay Kay Menon has stood like a forte in his acting. His sneer expressions and humor were awesome, actually made his screen presence wonderful.

On a credit note, as respect towards all the officials who are working hard for Indians as Indians out there on the border or out from our house, a Big salute…

Overall, One hell of roller coaster ride for India by Indians.
