Undercover Season 1 Review - CLICK HERE

Undercover (2020) is the second instalment of the first season released in May 2019. The series has ten episodes with an average runtime of 45mins released on 10th November 2020.

The second instalment of Undercover covers the post-arrest of Ferry Bouman where he is waiting for his trial. After the successive undercover operation, Bob is working with the police besides Kim is now working as an investigative reporter. Kim was working in uncovering illegal arms dealing by the brother's JP and Laurent using a Horse ranch NGO as a facade. Her undercover revealed then she got killed in cold-blooded which affects Bob personally and forced to go undercover to bring the killers to light.

Undercover Season 2 is different from season 1. The Season 2 is much into a kind of revenge topped with the issues from the Ferry case. In season 1, Bob killed Ferry’s son-in-law which was wired leads to a threatening tool for Ferry against Bob. Also, Bob remained to have a crush on Kim made him agitated and ignited to work personally to take down the illegal arms dealing brothers.

Laurent and JP are the brothers who do illegal arms dealing business keeping an NGO as a façade. JP is a cool and calculative person and hard to break. On the other hand, Laurent, having a big mouth and weak to break. Natalie, a mother to Laurent Son employed in the NGO as a Ranch co-ordinator. Bob plans to use her to break Laurent to uncover the truth about their business.

What happens next forms the Undercover – season 2.

The undercover second chapter is not as thrilled as its predecessor, instead of gone side-tracked to a formal melodrama. A season without action, thriller but to be considered as a psychological melodrama as it tests of patience. The screenplay, easily guessable since it follows the pattern of season 1.

The characters of Bob, Ferry, Natalie, JP, Laurent has done their roles to the screenplay. The primary weakness of the season is the weak characterization and stingy budget. The background score was the same as season 1.
