Action Packed Thriller but guessable screenplay.

My VR Critique Meter: ⭐½

Khuda Haafiz is released in Disney + Hotstar as an exclusive movie on 14th August 2020. The movie has a runtime of 2hrs 13 minutes.  Vidyut Jammwal, Shivaleeka Oberoi, Annu Kapoor cast a lead role in the movie. The movie is directed by Faruk Kabir.

Khuda Haafiz is said to be inspired by true events. The movie takes root from the capital city Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh and is one of the largest cities in India. Sameer Chaudhary (Vidyut Jammwal) marries the girl of his parents’ choice, Nargis Rajput (Shivaleeka Oberoi), daughter of a Hindu-Muslim couple. It’s a traditional match but they soon find love and commitment in great quantities. Their happy world comes crashing down when they both lose their jobs during the 2008 recession. That’s when they decide to seek employment in the illusory country, Sultanate of Noman. She reaches there first and soon Sameer gets a call from his wife and sounds scared. Sameer hints she’s been abducted and rushes to Noman where he gets help from a Pathan cab driver (Annu Kapoor).

Sameer after so much of search finds where his wife is but isn’t able to rescue her as he’s outnumbered. With the help of the Indian embassy, Sameer approaches Noman government for help, they assign two yearning cops, Faiz Abu Malik (Shiv Pandit) and Tamena Hamid (Ahana Kumra) to help him out. What happens later? Did Sameer find his beloved or not? Who abducted her? Is the remaining flick.

Notable highlights of the movie, the country Noman is strange where almost everyone knows Hindi but their modulation is different. The scene which I really liked is the fight scene inside a big house, Sameer on one side of a small pathway, numerous on the other side, He started to stab everyone in sight narrates us that If we love someone and lost in a fragment of seconds, How anger generates which cannot be controlled. The director has shown it in an underdone toned. In another scene, Sameer fights Nawab Shah’s character by randomly throwing forks, knives and chili powder engage us to think about what will happen next.

Diving into the casting and acting of Khuda Haafiz, Shiv Panditt and Ahana Kumra play local cops with their Arabic accent. Annu Kapoor is an Afghani taxi-driver waging his work in Noman and he certainly makes sure his Pathan accent comes out as believable. Shivaleeka Oberoi gets a less screen appearance and less dialogue. She disappears soon after marriage and we only catch minute glimpses of her in the rest of the movie. The emotional connection between her and her husband isn’t played out well. The protagonist of the movie Vidyut Jammwal as Sameer Chaudhary who is known for his over-the-top action showcases as a common man and becomes an avenging angel like Liam Neeson from Taken. His toned-down action sequences, the pain, anger, and frustration shown through his acting was prodigious.

Music and Background score has traveled ideally along with the screenplay. The songs particularly is appreciable, since the songs are going along with the movie, the possibility of skipping is very limited.

Overall, Khuda Haafiz is a true potential cracker filled with action sequences. But guessable screenplay diluted the movie to get influence. Do stream the well-crafted movie in which the viewers will not be disappointed.
